Music Director

Lucy Cartano

Picture
Lucy has been singing all her life and began with Sweet Adelines in 1970 in Chicago.  After moving to California, she sang with a chorus in Oxnard and then with the San Diego Chorus.  While being part of the Pacific Belles Chorus, she began assisting the Director which lead her to direct the Music Men's Chorus for seven years.  Lucy is an outstanding Bass and not only entertains the audience while conducting but the chorus as well.

Neva,  former PBC music director, started singing Barbershop in 1967.  She first sang Bass then moved to Tenor and lastly as Lead.  Neva began directing in Arkansas with "Sweet Adelines Echoing Hills Chorus".  While living in Arkansas, she and husband ran a fishing  resort  called  "Chamberlain's."   After settling  in Vista  -  CA,  she joined  the  Pacific  Belles  Chorus  and continues today as lead singer and section leader.

Harmonizing Throughout The Years

Pacific Belles Choirs started with Joann Willet during the 90's. Passionate by barbershop music she did not let her lack of access to women's arrangement hold her back. Yes, Pacific Belles used to singing men's arrangement and rock it!!
Time has passed, things have changed, but we are very thankful for Willet initiative and to the inspiration and knowledge that all music directors have given to us, then and now.
